Role Title: Backend Software Engineer / AI Coding Specialist
Job Type: Contractor (~15 hours/week)
Location: Remote
Schedule: Flexible — choose your own hours and days, including weekends.

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Backend Software Engineers to contribute to AI training projects. You'll create realistic coding tasks involving feature implementation and bug fixing, develop deterministic verifiers, and provide high-quality technical input to improve next-generation AI systems. No prior AI experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create challenging and realistic coding tasks for AI systems.
  • Implement and fix features across production-style codebases.
  • Build deterministic verifiers to validate coding solutions.
  • Debug issues and optimize application performance.
  • Refactor codebases while maintaining reliability and functionality.
  • Review code and assess solution quality.

Required Skills

  • Python, Java, Rust, C++, TypeScript, or similar languages.
  • Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.
  • Backend development and API experience.
  • Debugging and bug fixing.
  • Performance optimization and automated testing.
  • Code review and refactoring.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience building scalable backend services and APIs.
  • Experience working with large or complex codebases.

Compensation

Compensation is output-based, with payment provided per task that meets project requirements. Minimum weekly submission requirements may apply.
